As You Sow
As You Sow was founded in 1992 and has grown into two programs that strive to increase corporate accountability. The Environmental Enforcement Program seeks to reduce and remove carcinogenic exposures by pursuing compliance with California's Safe Drinking Water and Toxic Enforcement Act. This program has reached settlements with more than 300 companies resulting in most cases with products being reformulated nation-wide to remove hazardous ingredients. Restitution secured through this work is disbursed through grants to support community-based organizations also fighting toxics contamination and exposures throughout the state. In 1997, As You Sow launched the Corporate Social Responsibility Program to use shareholder advocacy and the financial markets to catalyze positive change within public held companies. We have led or actively participated in more than 50 shareholder dialogues or resolutions and have conducted more than 25 shareholder solicitation campaigns moving numerous companies towards greater environmental sustainability and social equity.

Corporate Accountability (European Coalition for Corporate Justice)
"Corporate Accountability" as defined in an NGO-statement submitted to the United Nations in 1997 refers to "the legal obligation of a company to do the right thing. The aim of corporate accountability is to be sure a company's products and operations are in the interests of society and not harmful." Corporate accountability is especially relevant to the current situation of increasing economic globalization. Transnational Corporations (TNCs) are the main protagonists and beneficiaries of globalisation but their activities often have detrimental environmental and social impacts. Therefore, there is a need of national and international instruments to ensure that the activities of TNCs are consistent with the goals of sustainable development.

Corporate Agribusiness Research Project (CARP)
Was established to monitor corporate agribusiness from a public interest perspective through awareness, education, and action while at the same time advocating the importance of building alternative, democratically controlled food systems. By utilizing fact-based strategic research and the publishing of The AgriBusiness Examiner, a weekly e-mail newsletter, and The Agbiz Tiller, a periodic online news feature service, CARP seeks to serve family farmers, farm workers and consumers in their struggles for economic and social justice.

Corporate Citizenship (Orelle Corporation)
My name is Philip Cain. I am the president of Orelle Corporation and these citizenship pages are written entirely by me and reflect my own thoughts. My primary thesis is that a policy that causes business to withdraw from the public arena is not good or sound business policy. All that I say here springs from that thought. Council of Institutional Investors
Is the premier U.S. shareowner-rights organization. It is a not-for-profit association of 130 public, labor, and corporate pension funds with assets exceeding $3 trillion. The Council works to educate members and the public about corporate governance, and to advocate for strong governance standards on issues ranging from executive compensation to the election of corporate directors.

An academic encyclopedia about corporate governance intended for use by students, academics, business people and government officials. The vision is to be the most useful and well documented web-based resource about topics that are relevant for the understanding of issues in corporate governance.

Executive PayWatch (by AFL-CIO)
Analysis and information about disparity between executive salaries and other workers. The average CEO of a Standard & Poor's 500 company made $13.51 million in total compensation in 2005, according to an analysis by The Corporate Library. And that's just their annual take. At a time when most working families are looking at shrinking retirement nest eggs, many CEOs also have negotiated golden retirements for themselves.

Hispanic Association on Corporate Responsibility
Founded in 1986, HACR is one of the most influential advocacy organizations in the nation representing 14 national Hispanic organizations in the United States and Puerto Rico. The mission is to advance the inclusion of Hispanics in corporate America at a level commensurate with our economic contributions. To that end, HACR focuses on four areas of corporate responsibility and community reciprocity: employment, procurement, philanthropy, and governance.

LENS
Was founded in 1991 by Robert A.G. Monks and Nell Minow. Having achieved its investment goals, Lens has now transferred its activist operations to Lens Governance Advisors which is advising institutions and other professionals on corporate governance activities. (See next listing.)

Lens Governance Advisors
A law firm founded by Robert A.G. Monks, its sole partner, in 2002. Mr. Monks created the firm to continue his work in holding corporate management accountable to ownership and in improving shareholder value through increasing shareholder involvement. The corporate scandals coming to light in recent years have underscored the need for effective corporate governance and the potential of shareholder litigation as a means of reforming corporate governance. LGA's purpose is to realize that potential, while continuing the work of shareholder consulting and engagement performed successfully by Lens Investment Management from 1992 to 2002.
