Asian Pacific American Labor Alliance (APALA), AFL-CIO
Founded in 1992, APALA is the first and only national organization of Asian Pacific American union members. It organizes and works with Asian Pacific American workers, many of them immigrants, to build the labor movement and address exploitative conditions in the garment, electronics, hotel and restaurant, food processing, and health care industries.
Center for Defense Information
CDI provides expert analysis on various components of U.S. national security, international security and defense policy and promotes wide-ranging discussion and debate on security issues such as nuclear weapons, space security, missile defense, small arms and military transformation.
Since 1972, CDI has produced research and publications such as the acclaimed Defense Monitor, numerous books and monographs, and engaging conferences. To ensure the ability to provide objective analysis, CDI accepts no U.S. government or defense industry funding, and to encourage the intellectual freedom of the staff, CDI does not hold policy positions.

Council on Economic Priorities
[no operative website at present, unfortunately] Alice Tepper Marlin founded this nonprofit public interest organization to research corporate social responsibility in 1969. CEP publishes corporate reports, gives yearly corporate responsibility awards, started the "Campaign for Cleaner Corporations" and provides corporate social responsibility research for investors. CEP also provides global corporate ratings, a "News Update Service," and a "Corporate Environmental Data Clearinghouse."

Habitat for Humanity International
A nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing ministry which seeks to eliminate poverty housing and homelessness from the world, and to make decent shelter a matter of conscience and action. Invites people of all backgrounds, races and religions to build houses together in partnership with families in need. Has built more than 200,000 houses around the world, providing more than 1,000,000 people in more than 3,000 communities with safe, decent, affordable shelter. Founded in 1976 by Millard Fuller along with his wife Linda.
Home of the Innocents
Reaches out and advocates for children, youth and their families, by providing care and shelter during periods of critical times. Children who have been abused, abandoned or neglected and typically are in the custody of the state are referred to the programs at the Home by social workers.
Humane Society Legislative Fund (HSLF)

Institute for Global Communications
Beginning in 1987, IGC played a formative role in bringing advanced communications technologies to grassroots organizations worldwide working for peace, human rights, environmental sustainability, women's rights, conflict resolution and worker rights. The year 2002 marked the 15th anniversary of the founding of IGC, and we're taking this early opportunity to announce a new beginning for the organization. We have completely rebuilt the IGC Progressive Gateway Website and are partnering with eGrants to offer secure online credit card transaction services for nonprofits.
International Co-operative Alliance (ICA)
An independent, non-governmental association which unites, represents and serves co-operatives worldwide. Founded in 1895, ICA has 222 member organisations from 91 countries active in all sectors of the economy. Together these co-operatives represent more than 800 million individuals worldwide.
International Fund for Animal Welfare
